The history of The Republic & LLC Makoil

Distillation of sulfur crude oils and petroleum products production

Historically, the development of oil refining industry in Tatarstan was determined by its economic efficiency. Possessing huge reserves of hydrocarbon feedstock, the Republic - a leader in oil production in the USSR – for half a century supplied feedstock to other regions of the Union and abroad.  The lack of crucial processing facilities impacted the regional economy in general and, as a consequence, the development of the entire country

 

In 2011, after the incorporation of  Makoil, the company intermediately implemented the configuration of Makoil Heavy Residue Conversion Complex was determined, which implied implementation of a heavy oil residue processing technology on the basis of a Veba Combi Cracking (VCC) process. The project aimed at improvement of crude conversion depth while increasing the yield of light oil products. 

Exploration and Production 

LLC Makoil (formerly JSC Makoil) is a holder of the RT Government prize for quality in 2016 - 2021 and a diploma winner of the RT government competition in the field of quality in 2018 as well as in 2020

With LLC Makoil Strengthening and expanding the resource base is one of the Company’s strategic objectives. The sound resource base ensures the stability of production activities and achievement of targeted volumes of hydrocarbon production. The Company carries out a significant volume of exploration work, extends the portfolio of licenses showing stable replenishment of oil and gas reserves.

The Company’s fields and license blocks are located in various oil and gas provinces of Republic of Tatarstan and even further to some province of Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia. When conducting exploration, the Company pays considerable attention to the use of new technologies and equipment, and support of operations by research and development institutes as well as design institutes which makes it possible to increase its efficiency.

• Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the company's exports have been affected.  

• To reduce losses, the management has entered into an agreement with a Kazakh oil company.   

• The agreement will allow the company to provide non-Russian certificates of origin for most of their diesel products.
